Eagle Island Lodge, A Belmond Safari, Botswana, is the ultimate Okavango Delta water- experience-focused safari lodge.
Eagle Island Lodge is one of Botswana’s original safari lodges, perched on a private island encircled by some of the deepest stretches of the Okavango Delta, one of the world's largest inland water systems and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The lodge is decorated to reflect an explorer’s base. Design highlights in the twelve spacious deluxe tented rooms include oversized beds with views of the delta, large outdoor decks with a vista, private plunge pools, luxurious bathrooms with large tubs, indoor & outdoor showers, a relaxation and reading nook, and walk-in wardrobes.
Fully rebuilt public areas include a stylish dining area with a pizza oven, a lounge area with an artisan-style bar, a library, a separate campfire area and the Fish Eagle Bar which is located directly on the water. Local artisans and materials were used throughout the renovations.
The lodge offers a variety of essentially water-focused safari activities including motorboat safaris, barge cruises, mokoro safaris (a local canoe), fishing, as well as walking safaris and the ultimate air safari experience by helicopter – a highlight of any guests’ stay!
There is an abundance of bird and aquatic wildlife around the lodge, complemented by larger mammals such as elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, as well as the ever elusive big cats that have made this island their home.
RATE INCLUDES

CHILDREN: MINIMUM AGE FOR CHILDREN 6 YEARS AND OLDER.
Children 6 – 11 years pay 50% of the adult per person sharing rate for low and shoulder seasons.
Children 6 – 11 years pay 75% of the adult per person sharing rate for high season.
Suites – the suites at Belmond Khwai River Lodge include an outdoor bathroom, private plunge pool.
Additional Person / Children’s Policy The property General Manager has sole discretion as to whether an additional person shall be permitted to share a room.
Children are considered those between the ages of 6 and 11 years old and the following conditions will apply: Children will be required to have an adult (over the age of 16) accompanying them at all times when in the lodge. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure this. Children will be required to sleep in the parents’ rooms and be accompanied in a room with at least 1 adult (over the age of 16). Children under 6 years of age are not permitted to stay at our lodge, due to safety reasons. The inter-lodge flights are charged at the full price. Verification of the child's age is required prior to traveling by means of passport details.

ONE extra bed can be placed in a luxury room, upon availability a maximum of 2 triple luxury rooms per lodge per night at an additional cost per night. The accommodation will be based on a fully inclusive basis including 2 game viewing activities per day
(Although there may be restrictions on certain activities for children aged 6-11 years of age). Extra beds are subject to availability.
12 years and over (Adult)
ONE extra bed can be placed in a luxury room, upon availability a maximum of 2 triple luxury rooms per lodge per night at an additional cost per night. The accommodation will be based on a fully inclusive basis including 2 game viewing activities per day. Extra beds are subject to availability. Kindly note that accommodation is limited to a maximum of three persons in a room. There are a limited number of extra beds. Private vehicle hire for families are subject to availability at the time of check-in, are on a request basis, and will be charged at an additional rate determined by the lodge managers whilst clients are in-house at the respective lodge All Rates (including those that are attributed to the helicopter excursion at Eagle Island Lodge) are subject to any increase outside the Company’s control and or by the amount of any future increase in General Sales Tax, VAT and/or levy rates. Any such increase to take effect from the date upon which any such future increase is announced. The Company will give written notice to the Tour Operator of any future GST, VAT or levy changes, of the consequentially revised rate and of the date from which such revised rate is to take effect.
