Mkhulu’s House is a private homestead just away from Hluhluwe River Lodge and tucked up in its own secret forest. The house sleeps 4 people in two en suite rooms and is ideal for a family of 4 or two couples wishing to self cater in the privacy of their own environment.

There is swimming pool and a lovely entertainment area on the deck complete with a superb view. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a gas barbecue for outside cooking.

Mkhulu's House is self-catering although guests may enjoy the meals offered at Hluhluwe River Lodge. Meal bookings are essential and must be made a day in advance at reception.

ROOM FEATURES:

The main bedroom has a deck that looks over the Hluhluwe River Floodplain. It has two ¾ beds and the en-suite bathroom has a double vanity basin, a shower, Victorian bath, separate toilet & bidet. A small adjoining room with bunk beds can accommodating 2 small children under the ages of 12 years.

Mkhulu's house is ideal for a family of four or two adult couples though there is a small room with bunks for 2 additional young children. The house is equipped for a self-catering holiday however meals may be booked at the lodge restaurant provided the lodge is occupied by guests. Mkhulu’s House is a 5-minute walk from the main lodge, we recommend that you bring a torch if you intend booking meals as the path and road has no lighting.

The lodge terrace has a fire pit which is lit every night and dinner is served most often on the outside deck or in the dining room depending on weather. Dinner is served from 7.00 pm and breakfast from 7.00 am till 10.00 am. Important: If guests intend eating at the lodge rather than self-catering they must book a day in advance or when making their reservation so that the lodge restaurant can cater for them.
