The Lodge was named after a historic Mwamfushi River, one of the distributaries of the famous Lwitikila River in Mpika district of Muchinga Province, which is a source of water for the Great People of Mpika District of Muchinga Province of Zambia.
Mwamfushi Safari Lodge is located in Mumbwa (GMA), Kafue National Park, around 300 kilometers from Lusaka. The Lodge can also be reached from Livingstone by Itezhi tezhi Road, which is 45 kilometers from the Mongu – Itezhi tezhi junction and 40 kilometers west to the banks of the Kafue River, or via Mongu Road, which is 41 kilometers from the DNPW 21 Gate after the Hook Bridge.
