About Sindabezi Island Camp by Green Safaris
4-star Island Camp
Sindabezi Island captures the authentic African bush camp experience in true luxury and style. This is the sister lodge to the magnificent Tongabezi Lodge which is also situated on the Zambezi River floodplains.
Not only are guests treated to views of the Zambezi River, but just in the distance one can also see the Victoria Falls National Park from their private open-fronted Chalet. Featuring quiet hang-out spots, Sindabezi Island is a place that nurtures the soul. The main camp beckons you to unwind amidst the tranquillity of this tiny isle, just 12km upstream from Victoria Falls.
With zero grid dependence, Sindabezi is one of Africa’s top 10 eco-lodges according to Fodor's. So the only footprints you will leave behind are in the island’s silky soft sand. This is the perfect spot for guests wanting to contribute to responsible tourism.
Perched on stilted wooden decks with full riverfront views, each Chalet is filled with natural light, sights and sounds of the wilderness. The entire island is also romantically lit at night with traditional hurricane lamps and candles, while a starlit sky adds an extra touch of wonder. Modern fittings pair effortlessly with locally sourced wooden furnishings and textiles. Newlyweds will fall in love with the Honeymoon Chalet and small groups can book out the entire island.
There is a lovely range of Zambezi activities to enjoy while staying on Sindabezi Island. You might like to start the morning on lazy sunrise boat cruise drifting down the Zambezi River and then end the day on our river sampan for a dinner quite unlike any other. And of course, the activity that steals the show, is your visit to the mighty Victoria Falls.
