About Tuningi Safari Lodge Madikwe Game Reserve
Tuningi Safari Lodge is situated in 165 000 acre, malaria free, "big 5" Madikwe Game Reserve.
Only four and half hours drive or 50 minute flight from Johannesburg. Tuningi offers five star service in a homely, friendly and relaxed environment and caters for children of all ages.
Tuningi has highly qualified game rangers with advanced photographic skills.
Wi-Fi facility at the main lodge and Satellite TV at the Bar.
Tuningi Safari Lodge offers an airport shuttle (available on request). Guests can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant, or indulge in deep-tissue massages, facials, or body treatments. Other highlights at this luxurious lodge include 2 outdoor pools, a poolside bar, and a fitness center.

KIDS ACTIVITIES
Tuningi is one of few lodges in a Big 5 reserve specialising in families with children of all ages.
Children over the age of five can join the first game drive with their parents where their behaviour will determine whether they continue joining normal drives or whether they will be moved to kiddies drives.
All children under the age of five will be taken on short ‘kiddies bumbles’ after breakfast in the mornings.
Babies will be looked after by Housekeepers who all have professional training, including First Aid.
Babysitting will be charged extra at R 45 per hour.
Lots of toys, lego, coloring books and puzzles are available any time of the day, while the lodge managers host formal activities every day.
FORMAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDE
- Treasure hunts for natural items collected from the bush such as bones, feathers, nests, eggs, etc
- T-shirt painting with animal stencils
- Clay building competitions
- Bush memory game
Older children are issued with an activity book where they can record sightings and animal
behaviour every day.

CHILD POLICY
CHILDREN: Children between 2 – 12 years will pay the child rate when sharing 1 chalet with 2 full paying guests (not the Family Suite).
Children of all ages are welcome.
Baby-sitters are available
at an extra cost.
Children 5 years and younger are not
allowed on game drives.
There is a children’s programme available. Children in own
room or family unit are charged full rate. No charge for
children under 2 years of age.
*Only 1 child (2–12 years old) is permitted to share a Luxury Suite with 2 full paying guests (maximum capacity 2 full paying guests and 1 child).
*Children between 2–12 years will pay the child rate when sharing 1 Luxury Suite with 2 full paying guests (not the Family Suite).
**The maximum capacity of a Family Suite is 4 guests; only one child (2–12 years old) may share on an extra bed in the room (maximum capacity 4 full paying guests + 1 child).
**Children between 2–12 years will pay the child rate when sharing 1 Family Suite with 4 full paying guests (subject to occupancy and availability).
One child sharing with one parent will be charged as 2 adults (2 full paying guests per room).
Creating triple suites in a Luxury Suite or adding an additional child to the Family Suite will be subject to availability based on occupancy (please contact Reservations bookings@skybornetravel.com)
GENERAL POLICY
PAYMENT: A deposit of 20% of the total accommodation
charge is required to confirm a provisional reservation and
full payment is required 30 days prior to arrival. A booking with a credit card will
be subjected to a 5% surcharge. Ideally bookings should be
settled via EFT. Extras may be settled in camp. We accept
all credit cards. We do not accept travellers cheques.
PEAK SEASON TEEMS AND CONDITIONS: 20 December until
5 January. All Bookings over Christmas and New Year’s Eve
can only be secured once a 25% non-refundable deposit has
been paid.
GROUP RESERVATIONS: Should the reservations department
require the accommodation that is being held by the group
for the same dates, we will request the group to supply us
with an immediate 20% non-refundable deposit. A booking
of 8 guests or more is classed as a group booking. Where 12
guests or more are requested a 50% non-refundable deposit
is required.
FEES: DRIVE IN: Park entry fee to the reserve of R180 per
adult and R80 per child 3 – 12yrs.
FLY IN: Airstrip landing fee of R240 per adult and R150 per
child 3 – 12yrs.
Conservation fee 2020 (From 01/01/2020) R165 per adult
per day and R82 per child 3 – 12yrs, per day.

CANCELLATION POLICY
CANCELLATIONS: Our cancellation policy is as follows:
> 45–31 days – 50% of full amount
> 30–15 days – 75% of full amount
> 14 days or less – 100% of full amount
